Conference registration is now open!
Join us for the 2025 UC Professors of Teaching Conference, hosted by the Center for Educational Effectiveness at UC Davis. The conference will bring together the Tenure Track Teaching Professor Network (T3PN), a community of Professors of Teaching (PoTs) across all campuses in the University of California system, from all fields of study. This year’s theme is "Navigating the Shifting Landscape of Higher Education." We are excited to announce registration is now open, and we cordially invite you to attend.
Goals of the Tenure Track Teaching Professor Network community
- Facilitate collaborations on teaching, educational programming, curricular design, and pedagogical research
- Develop leadership capacities in equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives related to education
- Establish formal mentorship structures among Professors of Teaching
- Provide opportunities to disseminate accomplishments
- Advocate for the Professors of Teaching position across multiple levels of the UC system
Activities and accomplishments of the Tenure Track Teaching Professor Network
- NSF-funded research and peer-reviewed literature on the role of Professors of Teaching in curricular development, institutional change, and undergraduate student success
- A system-wide Professors of Teaching mentoring program (run by UC Davis Professor of Teaching Marina Ellefson)
- Annual meetings supporting networking, research dissemination, and campus- and system-level advocacy for Professors of Teaching hiring and career development

Conference Pricing
The registration fee for the 2025 UC Professors of Teaching Conference is $75 and will be charged to a UC departmental account.
Keynote Panel
The keynote panel will include four panelists representing different UC campuses all of whom have taken on major administrative roles at their institution. The panel will begin with a short introduction by each panelist, followed by a structured Q&A with moderator Laci Gerhart, and then an open Q&A with the audience. Bios of panelists are below.
Robin Dunkin: Robin is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at UC Santa Cruz. She is also the Faculty Director of the UCSC Teaching and Learning Center.
Rachel Kennison: Rachel is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at UCLA. She is also the Executive Director of the Center for Education, Innovation and Learning in the Sciences (CEILS) and the Administrative Co-Leader, Center for the Integration of Research Teaching and Learning UCLA@CIRTL.
Mike Wilton: Mike is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology Department at UC Santa Barbara. He is also the Associate Dean for the UCSB College of Letters and Sciences Division of Undergraduate Education.
Brian Sato: Brian is a Professor of Teaching in the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Department at UC Irvine. He is also the Associate Dean for the UCI Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation.
Networking Dinner
After sessions end on Friday, June 20th, there will be an optional casual networking dinner held in downtown Davis. Attendees can convene at the G Street Block, which is a pedestrian-only section of G Street, between 2nd and 3rd streets (map of location here). The block has open public seating near a number of eating and drinking establishments, including Woodstock Pizza, Three Mile Brewing, Pho Yummy, Kathmandu Kitchen, Jusco Sushi, Red 88, Open Rice Kitchen, Davis Beer Shoppe, and Shipwrecked Tiki Bar. Many other restaurants are less than a block away as well. Groups can distribute throughout these restaurants (especially if eating indoors is preferred) or get food to-go and eat in the public space on G Street.
